We trust that the change of seasons is treating you well. I woke up to the first frost here in Cumberland, how about you?
It has been a whirlwind for us, transitioning through the move to Cumberland, into a tiny home, building a shed, and launching the Earth Guides App. Fewf. How's it going for you?
We are finding it all coming together nicely though. The new schedule and locations have been fun to figure out as well. We are in the middle of test piloting some events on Monday evenings at the Weird Church (see below). We are finally choosing Sunday mornings to have some good ol' fashioned Live Action Role Play if you are interested (also see events below)... oh and have over 30 people who wish to access resources with us at no cost to them. If you are interested in contributing, there are options below.
How would you like to join this year's journey of Earth & Wonder?
Oh, and we are excited to be Celebrating our 20th Year in Service!

Onto Earth Guides, a place online to seek community, support, events, resources and training.
Our community has grown quickly, alongside the needs of children, youth, and families in our region. But as you can imagine, it takes a village to sustain and expand these resources. Will you help us ?
The Community Impact So Far: We’ve provided vital support to over 2,000 children, youth, and families, and equipped more than 100 Guides and Behavior Support Workers with essential training and supplies.
Yet, the demand continues to grow.
This is why we created this online Community of Support App. Here's a screen shot:
This is a space for adults and mature youth who either work with youth or play outside. Where you can learn, grow, engage, receive support and connect with a greater community about topics and things that matter. Everything here is about Children, Youth and the Earth.
Our guidance, support, training, events and resources are available for people locally and globally. For people who seek affordable guidance and support that work with children and youth outside. Earth Guides is an online community platform—a safe, private space for Guides, families, and support workers to connect, collaborate, and share resources that respond to the unique needs of children and youth. However, we need your support to keep this going.
The Current Need Is Urgent.
Recent studies highlight the ongoing effects of COVID-19 on youth mental health. Combined with rising costs of living, our community’s need for accessible support and affordable training, as well as safe transportation in this rural area has never been greater.
Your contribution today will help us provide:
Free and affordable online support and training for Behavior Support Workers, Outdoor Play providers and Business Owners through out Earth Guides App
Safe and reliable transportation and resources on-land
A safe and confidential community space for those supporting children with diverse needs
Epic Outdoor Adventures such as Wild Craft Role Play, Shadow Plays, Storytelling circles and more
Reliable Tools and Resources such as foam swords, gold coins, journals and quests
Events offered by donation to keep it affordable
Every Dollar Counts. Your support ensures that children, youth adults and even seniors can find compassionate, skilled guides, support and resources to guide them outdoors. Please donate today and help us continue to offer these crucial services.
We are helping prevent the 10 tonnes of waste that ends up on Denman and neighbouring islands EVERY YEAR, by spreading the word for the Association for Denman Island Marine Stewards and Ocean Legacy and curating a shadow play for the community.
For donations of min $25, for folks who want to support our Curating Cleaner Waters initiative, add "CURATING CLEANER WATERS" to the comment section in our partner's page
