Calling across the Stars: Can We Raise $1,000 by 4pm PST Today?

Hi Reader,

I don’t ask lightly.
If you’re reading this, it’s because you already care about the kind of work that changes lives—and right now, I need your help to make that work possible.

Today, I’m asking for something bold:

  • $1,000 by 4pm PST today
  • $5,000 by the end of the month

I trust that how it comes is out of my hands, but I believe in the magic of community, and I believe in you.

Why this matters:
A month ago, I was unhoused, it's a long story, and if you want to hear it, feel free to reach out. I am still living in my car. With my last savings, I bought a Seacan and began searching for land to place this tiny home. Amidst all this, I launched the Digital StoryWorks initiative with the assumption that I would easily get at least 5 businesses/initiatives onboard (maybe you saw my posts)—a vision to mentor youth in digital storytelling while offering affordable media services to our community seemed like a shoe in.

We needed 5 businesses to make it viable. We got 2.
Still, I kept going, and now I'm overdrawn in the bank today. Gosh. This is hard to share.

Here's a little testimonial from one of our new clients:

"Jamie carries a special kind of magic and enchantment. From our first onboarding meeting I felt like I’d stepped into a cozy little storybook where I was the main character and all the scary parts of “business” had been transformed into something fun and creative. With a few well-placed questions and a sprinkle of encouragement, they transformed what once felt like a tangled mess into a glittering web of possibility. I left that first call feeling like I’d been handed a magical book of choose your own adventure—brimming with inspiration, courage, and a giddy excite" ~ Michaela Devries ~ Hearthstone Art Therapy

Needless to say, in the midst of all that is going on, I cried!

This weekend, I took my boat to Quadra Island to where I am ever so grateful for one of the families that I provide Behavior Intervention for their teen, has offered their land as a place I can put my little Sea Turtle Can, with a trade for support on the land, and some low monthly payments to cover hydro. Fewf. What a whirlwind.

With the limited options right now, I decided to take this. I am doing my best to trust the process and have faith that something bigger is coming. The only day that works to transport the Seacan on August 27th, and you can only imagine how much this will cost. With each step, my nervous system is being jarred, and yet I am trusting that things will calm down soon. I have a good community on Quadra already, and look forward to settling into a space soon.

As a side note... If you have ANY interest in the building of this Seacan Tiny Home, please reach out, as I could use the help, and will be documenting the whole thing as I go. Today I dreamt of the perfect design for the "bedroom/bath combo room."

Here’s the truth:
Moving 4 times in 4 months has completely tapped my nervous system.
But I have faith. If you are moved to contribute financially, I believe in reciprocity. If you can help now, I’m happy to give back—whether that’s sharing your digital story with the world or exploring ways you can invest and see a return.

We have 3 youth initiatives happening right now that I am carrying on my own, and if you help, they will blossom with this capital injection. Your support doesn’t just help me—it helps in youth development for 8 current youth ages 14 to 27, opportunities, and hope for the next generation.

I get that I could have done this differently, yet here I am, and here you are.

And if you are looking for some inspiration,

here is a little article I wrote today for the youth I am training in Digital StoryWorks

about ways to get inspired. See more...

Thank you for believing in this work, for believing in me, and for helping keep the fire of possibility alive.

I completely understand if this is way outside of your capacity, so thank you all the same for reading to the end. You mean a lot to me, and I trust that our connecting is aligned with the stars, and for some reason, you are in my sphere, of which I am eternally grateful!

With gratitude and courage,
Jamie
